Safaricom Senior Wimax Planning Engineer Job in Kenya

We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Regional Network Department within the Technical Division.

In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

Senior Wimax Planning Engineer

Ref: TECHNICAL_SWPE_SEP 2011

Reporting to the Senior Regional Planning Manager, the holder of the position will Assist in the analysis and design of WiMAX systems in 3.5/3.3/2.6/2.5 GHz using specific Atoll RF planning tools including capacity and frequency planning and proposes optimization techniques through field work.

All these include but not limited to: Interference analysis, Coverage mapping, Link Budget calculations, Profiles Calculation for LOS, Selection of Best sites through analysis of topographical maps; and preparation of BOQ rd.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the analysis and design of WiMAX systems in 3.5GHz using specific RF planning tools;
  • Execution of RF designs for specific markets including capacity and frequency planning and proposes optimization techniques through field work;
  • Use of Atoll RF planning tools in design of WiMAX;
  • Use of RF propagation models for use in designing WiMAX networks;
  • Selection of Best sites through Analysis of topographical maps for sites selection according to coverage;
  • Analysis & Mapping; Interference analysis; Engineering Design; Coverage mapping; Link budget calculations; Profiles calculation for LOS;
  • Microwave Links RF calculations and design;
  • Design and planning of various access technologies for delivery of high capacity bandwidth e.g. WiFi, Fiber, LMDS.
Minimum requirements
  • Bachelors of Electrical and Electronic Engineering or communications Engineering Degree;
  • WiMAX Forum Certification, IP knowledge and Cisco certification will be an added advantage;
  • Computer Proficiency (vast experience in data processing applications);
  • Min 2 yrs of RF network design experience with leading roles as a network planner;
  • Specific experience in using commercial RF network planning tools for Wireless Broadband;
  • Working knowledge of IEEE 802.X standards;
  • Basic understanding of RF propagation models and their application for Wireless Broadband.;
  • Knowledge with RF measurement equipment (spectrum analyzer, power meter, etc.);
  • Prior RF/microwave experience with a wireless service provider;
  • Basic understanding and hands-on experience with RF instrumentation and lab tools;
  • Basic RF systems engineering knowledge and analytical skills;
  • Experience in operation of cell sites: installation, verification and RF optimization.

Financial Controller

  • Coordinate the establishment of sound financial policies, systems and procedure in compliance with statutory regulations.

  • To oversee the protection and guarding of the premises (property, tenants, guests and staff).
  • Develop and implement the Corporation’s disaster-preparedness strategies and policies.
  • Liaise with external organization, governmental agencies and ministries on security issues.
  • Coordinate the establishment and implementation of crime preventive and detection strategies

Assistant Supply Chain Manager

  • Participate in the annual pre-qualification of suppliers of goods and services
  • Participate in the process of procurement of plant equipment, goods and services
  • Coordinate the preparation, circulation and evaluation of tenders in liaison with the relevant departments and tender committee

Purpose of the Job
To contribute to the fulfilment of the organization’s Mission and strategic objectives by providing expertise in development and implementation of integrated projects and strategies for effective advocacy and social transformation to realize the KHRC’s mandate.

Primary tasks
Design and implement projects on transitional justice (rights, reforms and accountability issues) in the society;
Monitor and document progress on reforms and accountability issues in relation to land rights; IDPs protection and assistance; and remedies to victims of historical and present injustices;
Critique or prepare submissions of legislative advisories and policy briefs on the above issues;
Carry out research and write analytical reports with a view to progressively influencing policies, shaping and informing the discourse on human rights, gender justice and democratic governance;
Work with the state and non-state actors on victims’ and peoples’ quest for justice and reforms among other matters related to governance and transitional justice;
Network with the stakeholders at all levels and around the above issues: this entails establishing and coordinating thematic networks with and for victims and other partners.
Produce and submit periodical progress reports on substantive programme activities;
Assist in resource mobilization around the respective areas of work;
Carry out other tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Competencies required
A Bachelors’ degree in social sciences preferably in political science, law or public policy;
A thorough understanding of human rights issues, principles, frameworks and situation in the Kenya and beyond;
At least two years work-related experience in policy advocacy or research on justice, reforms and other governance and transitional justice processes;
Ability to work with different stakeholders and partners at all levels in the society: working with victims and grassroots communities will be an added advantage;
A proven track record of commitment to the protection and promotion of human rights, equality principles and gender justice;
Impeccable field and Internet-based research abilities;
Experience in writing research reports;
Fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili;
Experience in team-building and leadership.

Role Profile: Accounts Payable Assistant Accountant Kenyan Jobs.

Reports to: Senior Accountant


Nature and Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to improve and take a lead role in processing of suppliers accounts in the systems, undertaking timely reconciliations of payables and enhancing internal controls pertaining to purchase ledger

Key Responsibilities
Receive supplier’s invoices, attach necessary support documents, code, analyse take for approval and input accurately in the system.

Analyse and post petty cash vouchers.
Analyse fuel usage and assist in compiling the fuel consumption fleet report.

Liaise with credit control on suppliers who are also customers so that convenient arrangement on exchange of cheques are agreed.
