Airport Manager Job Kenya

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA Kenya) is the biggest Airport in East and Central Africa, and is the focal point for major aviation activity in the region. Its importance as an aviation centre makes it the pacesetter for other airports in the region.

In order for JKIA to achieve its vision of becoming the “Airport hub of Choice’ we are looking for an
individual to fill the position of Airport Manager.

The jobholder will be required to provide leadership in order to facilitate development of innovative practices for enhancing business growth, customer experience, safety and security of passengers and airport users in line with the International Aviation Standards, recommended practices and the Strategic objectives of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.


Main Responsibilities:
Develop and implement robust and strategic partnerships with airport stakeholders for effective and efficient delivery of airport services.
Ensure achievement of strategic objectives of the organization.
Participate in the development, implementation and review of the Airport Master Plan.
Ensure serviceability of equipment, facilities and the infrastructure at all times.
Develop and implement product and service delivery strategies in consultation with marketing and other stakeholders to meet customer needs
Prepare, implement and monitor the Airport’s operating and Capital budgets
Prepare and implement Business Development Plans in consultation with marketing and other stakeholders to enhance growth
Manage and direct the implementation and compliance of civil aviation standards and recommended practices in facilitation, security and safety and other regulatory and statutory audits.
Participate in the planning and implementation of capital investments and expansion programmes
Provide leadership to department heads within the airport including motivating the workforce.
Ensure the effective implementation, maintenance and sustainability of the Quality management system and customer service standards.
Develop and monitor service level agreements with service providers and internal departments.

Key Qualifications and Experience
A first degree in marketing, business administration, engineering, aviation, legal studies, humanities and social sciences or any other related studies.
Masters degree from a recognized university with a bias towards strategic management, aviation related program or Business studies
Minimum 15 years experience ten (10) of which must have served at a senior management level as either Head of a department or a Business unit in a large sized commercial environment with customer service orientation
Computer literacy

Job Summary:

Reporting to Regional Manager, Eastern, the Area Manager will be responsible and accountable for all aspects of Area/Cluster programming, in particular: high quality contract deliverables / compliance; reports preparation and conceptual strategic leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

* Facilitate CBO/Federation development and timely submission of project proposals and work-plans
* Ensure Cluster/Area project compliance with National Office/donor contracts by way of planning, implementation, field monitoring visits and compiling of quality narrative and financial reports
* Ensure all the affiliate CBO projects adhere to the organisation’s programming principles; procurement, administrative and financial policies
* Monitor project to pro-actively identify risks related to contract compliance and prescribe, implement and manage corrective action
* Ensure timely submission of progress reports that meet the organizations/donor requirements, as stipulated in the contract.
* Build and foster good relations between ChildFund Kenya, other NGOs, and GOK in order to enhance ChildFund, Kenya image, visibility and access to information resources.
* Enhance effective communication at all levels between the Cluster/Area staff, within the projects areas, National office and other partner agencies
* Participate in the relevant District/County Child Protection, Development Policy & Advocacy formulation forums.
* Represent and speak for ChildFund Kenya in forums/matters related to Child Protection & Development within the Cluster/Projects areas of operation.
* Ensure adequate program and project Design/Planning, Monitoring, Implementation and Evaluation within his area of jurisdiction.
* To lead, manage and motivate Programme teams, ensuring that they have clear objectives and receive meaningful feedback on their performance
* Ensure the capacity of ChildFund Area staff and partners is developed as appropriate in institutional and organizational development, technical themes relevant to the program and project cycle management skills (project identification and design, project implementation, project evaluation and learning), etc.
* Ensure that systems are structured and staffed appropriately to maintain effective and efficient management and use of all resources including financial resources, transport, supplies and capital assets in line with ChildFund Kenya policies and guidelines
* Being the budget holder, should ensure effective financial and budgetary control of all budgets.

Requirements:

* Degree level qualification in Development studies or Social Sciences with a minimum 3 years experience in Programme Design, Implementation & donor contract management
* Demonstrated experience implementing programs with Community Based Organizations
* Team Player with excellent communication and community mobilization skills
* Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
* High level of credibility and integrity

Applicants should be holders of a master’s degree in public administration or its equivalent from a recognized University.

In addition, the applicants should have eight (8) years Administrative experience in various aspects of Quality Management Systems (QMS) preferably in a University setting with high work volume and a shared customer focus service environment, three (3) years of which should be in dealing with implementation and monitoring of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems, implementation, measurement and monitoring of performance contracting including aspects of strategic planning.

The successful applicant will be expected to train staff on Quality Management Systems as well as ISO 9001:2008 internal auditing.

The applicants should be self driven and highly focused individuals with energy and commitment to highest performance standards in the delivery of University services.

As a seasoned Finance Advisory manager / senior manager, you will support clients in Finance Strategy, Operations and Enterprise Performance Management to help build world class finance
functions or address finance transaction needs.

The job holder will lead and manage consulting assignments in strategy, operational effectiveness, financial reviews, strategic cost management, cost analysis, business process reviews, business planning, finance transformation, CFO strategy and feasibility studies.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Undertaking business development through active identification of leads, conversion of leads to expressions of interests, proposals and engagements
  • Responsibility for delivery of client work and management of assignment economics

The role requires you to have 5 years experience in consulting or in Finance and Accounting back-office operations, e.g. Accounts Payable, Order Management, Accounts Receivables, Collections, General Ledger, Asset Management, Financial Reporting, Management Reporting, Budgeting and Forecasting and a minimum of 2 years of managing financial process projects.

At least 1 year in management role on an implementation of finance operations will be preferred.
